Un très bon album pour démarrer car , comme son nom l'indique, le groupe reprend d'une façon quelque peu originale des thèmes qu'ils considèrent comme des standards -parfois japonnais, mais parfois non, comme " Bones " qui est un morceau de Massacre (cf. Fred Frith). Franchement rigolo en fait !

Les trois volets du projet "Consuming" est une idée d' Otomo, 'dé)voué à sa propre passion pour le mixage et le sampling. "Conflagration" est donc une compilation de morceaux de différents "électroniciens" qui ont samplé et remixé "Consume Red"... la musique comme la pochette !
Certains morceaux ont une tendance dance-techno, d'autres sont carrément expérimentaux. Ah ça, pour être consumé...

Les désirs d'Otomo (!) s'orientant de plus en plus vers l'électronique pur, il met fin à Ground Zero, avec ce dernier concert qui, justement, juxtapose rock sauvage et triturages électroniques. Moins éxpérimental que la plupart des autres compositions du groupe, les morceaux prennent parfois un ton symphonique ou mélodramatique, dans un brouhaha infernal que vos oreilles n'ont surment pas l'habitude d'entendre !
